Surprise!

Very literally, when one adventure ended, the next began! The day our movers came was also the day we found out we had a surprise souvenir tagging along on our journey back to the States!

Big Brother, Pregnancy, Announcement, Ever Wilde Blog

It took us about 2.5 years and an almost IVF transfer before we became naturally pregnant with our first baby, Asher (see, he had a mind of his own even then)! So we really had no idea what to expect when we began thinking about adding a new baby to our family: maybe it will happen naturally ... maybe it won't...It might take forever, so prepare yourself for another emotional journey... Well, this time we barely had time to think it all through before that little stick said the word "PREGNANT" (well. it actually said SCHWANGER because, ya know, Germany).

Trying for Asher taught us patience. He was a gentle reminder that not all in life can be perfectly planned. And so far, this little one has brought me peace about our move back home and is another expression of the fact that timing can really end up perfect even if it doesn't match your original "perfect" plan.

This pic was taken at 12 weeks, but today I am 13 weeks and a few days preggers (and definitely bumping a bit earlier than last time around!!). Seriously, we are beyond excited to jump head first into life as the Murrays: party of four! And, while I was so sad to leave our Deutschland life behind, I'm really happy that we get to do this 2-kid thing with our family and friends nearby.

So far this pregnancy has been a bit harder on me symptom-wise. I had way more first-tri nausea than I remember with Asher and my body has already started the whole back-hip-ache saga that I dealt with much later on in my first pregnancy. But, again, timing has a way of working itself out because since I haven't resumed work yet, I've been able to nap when Asher does and, thankfully, take things pretty easily! Haven't had any major cravings or aversions yet, but I sure have been hungry...4th meal is the real deal around here these days!

So...I know what you're going to ask... Are we going to find out what we're having???!

Well, keep reading ... we already know!!!

Because I am super impatient (and because insurance covered it) we decided to do the cell-free DNA test that provides chromosomal info at 10+ weeks of pregnancy. We got the results a little over a week ago and baby passed the health screen with flying colors! Well, one color in particular - B L U E ! The test also confirmed that Murrays are really good at making BOYS!! Yep, you read that right. I am officially a #boymom! This little man makes boy #7 in a row on the Murray side! Pretty crazy and kind of hilarious.

Big Brother, Pregnancy Announcement, Ever Wilde blog

Jason and I are so happy we were able to add to our family and feel - honestly - so very lucky that this pregnancy came more easily for us. And the more I think about being the mom of two boys, the more heart warmed I feel to be giving them each a brother. I know they may not totally understand all of this for a while, but I hope we can instill in them a strong sense of family and teach them to be each other's biggest encourager and best friend. I hope they grow up to become happy little dreamers that treat others with respect- and that remember to call their mommy on a regular basis ;)

If my blog title weren't perfectly suited for our ex-pat adventure, it totally is now.

Embrace the Wilde,

lindsey
